Rip Curl Pro Round 1 : Davide Zerilli > RIP CURL PRO ROUND 1Round one is done!
The round one of the Rip Curl Pro contest, in Bells Beach, Torquay, Australia is done.
The first day have seen on the run the male first round. Overhead waves and a lot of adrenaline to apply the new asp rules.
The second day was a bit smaller but the best female surfers on the planet show us how to ride.

These rounds have seen in the competition the youngest surfer ever in an RIP CURL PRO Nikki Van Dijk (AUS) and the two times world champion and two times Bells Beach champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS).

Rip Curl Pro Women's FINAL : Davide Zerilli > RIP CURL PRO WOMEN'S FINALSilvana Lima (BRA), blue t-shirt, won the final heat of the Women's RIP CURL PRO 2009 BELLS BEACH.
The second appointment of the Women's ASP World Tour, the world tournament of surf. Both two the surfers show why they're in the top!
In the final Silvana Lima was vs Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) (Yellow t-shirt) two times world and Bells Beach Champion in charge. Silvana ride 2 terrific waves for the score of 9.17 (first wave she surfed) and 8.17 (second wave she surfed). Stephanie was able to ride her two best waves with a score of 7.83 (first wave she surfed) and 5.23 (third wave she surfed).
The ceremony with the legendary BELL!

KELLY SLATER VS OWEN WRIGHT... : Davide Zerilli > KELLY SLATER VS OWEN WRIGHT...

RIP CURL PRO Bells Beach 2009: the young OWEN WRIGHT (AUS), in blue, said no to the legend KELLY SLATER (USA), in yellow. 
Two meters waves presented to the tournament such perfect conditions, and we have seen in action the best surfers in the planet.
Kelly Slater (37), in yellow t-shirt is the none time world champion; world champion in charge thanks his last title in 2008, at the age of 36.
He’s the youngest surfer who ever won a world championship (he was 20), oldest one (the last year 36),only surfer to score a 'Perfect 20' heat total (Tahiti, 2005), most elite tour wins in pro surfing history (39): he’s a living legend and the winner of RIP CURL PRO BELLS BEACH 2008.
Today was his first heat and he had to defend the title vs the young OWEN WRIGHT (19 years old), that show his ability scoring a 7.67 in his second wave of the day and a 6.83 in his forth (high lights in the pictures). Kelly had a 7.00 getting in a not so perfect little barrel in his second wave but wasn’t able to reach an higher score than 6.83 in his fourth wave. The competition get to an end after five waves for both two the surfers for the happiness of Owen.
In the pictures you can see the questioning face of a disappointed Kelly and the happiness of Owen.

This rounds have seen in the competition the 16 best man surfer in this competition, from Joel Parkinson, actual number one, the young Owen Wright, Adam Robertson and Jordy Smith

Rip Curl Pro 2009 Men's Round 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Joel PARKINSON hold the BELL vs the local hero wildcard Adam ROBERTSON : Davide Zerilli > JOEL PARKINSON HOLD THE BELL VS THE LOCAL HERO WILDCARD ADAM ROBERTSON

Joel PARKINSON (AUS) (Yellow t-shirt while surfing, dark hair) confirmed his position of surfer number one in the ASP World tour winning the Bells Beach appointment with two amazing waves!
His second wave gave him a score of 7.83 and he crowned the final with his third wave, surfing a big wave, with some excellent turns for a score of 9.57.
His opponent in this final was the wildcard Adam ROBERTSON (AUS) (Blue t-shirt while surfing curly blonde hairs) who surfed his way from the trials qualification to the final, in fact he's not in the 45 best surfer of the ASP World Tour. He's the hero of the locals and had an incredible support in the beach with all his family around him! He surfed his best waves in 6.50 and 6.87.
